Andy Garfield Scores I.M.P.S. Relentless
Film composer, Andy Garfield recently informed the Cakewalk staff that he used SONAR to score and do all sound design for the wildly successful Star Wars Fan Film, I.M.P.S. Relentless. This film was released on the web as a free download on the same day that Star Wars Episode 3 was released to theaters and it has already been viewed by millions of people around the globe. Don’t let the term “fan film” fool you, everyone who worked on this movie are professionals in their field. They do not however, work for Lucasarts, and so created this movie which takes place in the Star Wars universe as a labor of love over a period of six years.
Garfield has used Cakewalk products since 1994, and has done work for Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, Animal Planet, James Cameron’s EarthShip TV, among many others, and has also done work for theme parks, most notably the Men in Black ride for Universal Studios. Andy is currently scoring Hatchet, a major theatrical release due in theaters early 2006, and is also working on some shows for the SCi Fi Channel, and an installation for the Georgia Aquarium.
“SONAR 4 Producer Edition is the best piece of software that I have ever used. If I were to sit down and design a piece of music software, I could not imagine anything that would work better for me than SONAR. It’s perfect in terms of workflow and so much more.”
