Make sure you have the 1.50 patch installed as well.

For Audio Creator LE, please click
here.
If that doesn't help, you can try re-importing the temp file created during the
recording. Many times the full length will be available there. Go to Start | Run
and type:
%APPDATA%/CAKEWALK
This will open a folder in Windows Explorer. Find the folder named "Audio Creator".
Open the “Audio Data” folder there. You should be able to drag and drop the last
audio file on the list directly into the Editor. You can then delete the previously
recorded track and go from the temp file you dragged in instead.
If this process doesn’t work for you, please click the Options button at the top of the Audio Creator
Toolbar.
You will find the sound card (or audio interface) name and manufacturer
listed here. Once you have this info, select your sound card manufacturer from the
Hardware Setup Guide
and follow the instructions here. If it is already in MME mode, please try WDM/KS
or ASIO.
Open a new project and try recording again. Moving your latency
slider towards the fast side under Options may improve the problem.
You may want to let Audio Creator record a few seconds/minutes of silence at the
end before pressing 'Stop'.

2) When I install Audio Creator on Windows Vista, why do I get the error, "Not
Logged in as Administrator"?
There could be an issue with Vista's User Account Control. Right-click the Audio
Creator shortcut you use and choose "Properties." Then click the "Advanced" button
at the bottom of the window that opens. You'll be able to check "Run as Administrator"
there. Click OK and from then on Audio Creator will run in admin mode when it's
launched from that shortcut. You will then be able to enter your Serial and Registration
Code.
Note: This is a property of the shortcut, not Audio Creator. If Audio Creator is
launched by other means, like from the Start Menu, it will not run in admin mode.
But, that same property can be set on that shortcut as well. Please click here for
more information on
Vista's User Account Control

3) My Mp3 Encoder does not work.
The only major differences between Audio Creator and Audio Creator LE is
the fact that the MP3 Encoder is a 30ay trial and that there is no Publisher module. Please click
here
to unlock the Audio Creator LE MP3 Encoder.

4) How do I clean up my LPs? I can't use effects.
Bring the file you'd like to clean up into the Editor by going to File | Import or File | Open. For the example we used Audio Creator's "AudioRestore" plugin. You can use the same process to insert any plugin on your computer:
Here's an example:
Audio Creator Effects
- Left or Right click the FX Bin area in the Editor.
- Browse to the "Cakewalk" section (depending on the plugins you have, you may see a different menu than what the mockup shows).
- Left-Click the "AudioRestore" plugin to insert it.
- Once the plugin inserts & launches, play your audio and adjust the plugin's settings to your liking (press "F1" to see the plugin's help).
- Save your file (if you choose to save as a "project", you will also save the plugin settings and be able to fine-tune them in the future if needed).

5) How do I split up long recordings? The CDs I burn come out as one big track.
To break up the long recording into individual tracks, you can add Markers in the Editor by pressing F11 or right-clicking on the time line and choosing "Insert Marker." You can also name these markers using Artist and Album info if you plan on exporting MP3 files later.
If you're burning an Audio CD from the recording, go to File | Save As - WAV. Now check "Add to Audio CD Track List" and "Use Track Markers as Indicators." Make sure the export sample rate and bit depth are 44.1k and 16bit. This should allow you to burn the CD with multiple tracks.
If you're creating separate MP3s from the recording, you have 2 options:
1) Go to File | Save As - MP3. Now check "Use Track Markers as Indicators." This
with export a separate MP3 file for each marker. Make sure you have a marker at
the beginning of the project as well. You will need to enter the ID tag info of
each file when prompted.
2) Go to File | Save As - WAV. Check "Use Track Markers as Indicators." Once the
files are exported, open the Encoder module, set up an MP3 preset, click the "Naming"
tab and set up your file names and/or check the option to import directly into iTunes.
Now drag and drop all of the files onto it.

6) I'm getting errors when I try to burn a CD - or when I do burn, the CD comes out garbled.
There are a few things to try. First, make sure you have the 1.5 update installed.
Click here for the full version of
Audio Creator or
here for
Audio Creator LE
If this doesn't clear up the issue, make sure the "Burn Speed" in Audio Creator matches up to the CDRW or DVDRW settings
in Windows. To do this, go to My Computer, right-click on the CD/DVDRW drive and
go to Properties, click the "Recording" tab and select the correct Burning Speed
from the drop down menu below.
To ensure that other programs are not interfering with the operation of Cakewalk,
do the following: Click the Start button. Choose Run. Type msconfig in the Run box
and click OK choose Selective Startup un-check Load Startup Group Items click OK
and restart the computer.
If you have any real time monitoring software running like Spy Doctor or Zone Alarm,
please try the steps on

7) I get the error: "Mixdown aborted, can't save".
If you are receiving the error "Mixdown aborted. Can't save." Then there are a few
things to look for. First, illegal characters such as question marks, slashes, asterisks,
etc.. Also excessively long file names can also cause this issue. Try to keep the
names under 11 characters for a Data CD. Try saving or exporting again once you
rename the markers. Every marker must have a different name.

8) Audio Creator drops out or 'stutters' during playback.
Whenever there are audio dropouts or stuttering issues, you can usually fix that
by changing the driver mode from MME to WDM or vice versa. If you have an after
market audio card or interface, try ASIO mode. Click
here
for the Audio Interface Setup Guide.
Please click the "Options" button at
the top of the Audio Creator Toolbar. If in MME, a larger buffer will be more stable,
the same goes for WDM; however, a multi-core system may like working with a smaller
buffer (towards the fast side) in WDM mode. We find 2 buffers to be quite stable,
but if you still get dropouts, 4 or 8 are
options.
For the stuttering playback or monitoring from your LP player, make sure it is not
connected to a USB hub, but rather
plugged directly into the USB controller. Also, if there are any webcams or other
USB devices like that, temporarily unplug them.
If switching driver modes doesn't do the trick, the AUD.INI file may be corrupt.
To wipe it out, go to Start | RUN and type %appdata%/cakewalk then press OK. Click
on Audio Creator and delete the AUD.INI file. The next time AC launches it will
rebuild the file with fresh driver information. Relaunch and try recording again.

9) I can't record in Audio Creator and/or the levels are too low.
In Windows Vista, please go to Start
| Run and type in either SNDVOL (for
playback controls) or SNDVOL -R (for recording). If you are in XP, type in SNDVOL32
or SNDVOL32 -R. You can adjust your levels here. You can also chose which devices
to control: In Vista click the "Device" button for a dropdown list of inputs or
devices. In XP go to Options | Properties and choose the Mixer Device there.
Open the Editor from the AC toolbar and press the record button by itself.
If you have signal going into your sound card or from your USB LP Player, you should see some levels in the
Record Meters on the right. If not, go to "Options" at the top
of the Audio Creator Toolbar and verify that the correct Recording and Playback
Devices are selected.
Click the Input Monitor button (or press I) in order to hear what you are recording.
Press Record then Play to start recording.
You will need the 1.5 patch installed for Input Monitoring. Click here for the full version of
Audio Creator
or here for
Audio Creator LE
If none of this works, please click the "Options" button in AC. Try setting the Driver Mode to WDM. If it already is, try MME instead. If you have an aftermarket
sound card or interface, ASIO mode may be your best bet. Click
here
for the Audio Interface Setup Guide.
As a last resort, try recording in Windows Sound Recorder (Start | Programs | Accessories
| Entertainment | Sound Recorder). If you cannot record in Sound Recorder, you won't
be able to record in Cakewalk. I'd then have you speak with your computer vendor
or LP Player manufacturer's technical support. Once they get Sound Recorder working,
Cakewalk should work as well.

10) How do I record from the Internet in Windows XP?
Please go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Sounds then click the Recording
Tab. Make sure the correct source is selected (Line-in). Click Properties to adjust
the input level. You can also reach this by going to Start | Run and type in either
SNDVOL32 or SNDVOL32 -R. Now look for the slider marked What you Hear or Stereo Mix,
check the box at the bottom marked Select and make sure that the volume fader is
up. You may need to click "Properties" on this input. Close the window down, and
open up your internet radio.
Next open up Audio Creator and set up the audio recorder under the Editor. Press
the Record button to arm the recorder. You should be getting a signal. Press play
to start the recording. If this does not work,
try the Windows Sound Recorder. If it doesn't work here either, your sound card
or driver may not be capable of rerouting the output to an input. You could always
try using a stereo 1/8th inch cable and connect the Speaker jack to the Line-in
jack.

We're looking for the input that records everything coming out of your outputs.
Click the "Set Default" button. Double-click on that button to adjust levels and
other properties.
Next open up Audio Creator and set up the audio recorder under the Editor. Press
the Record button to arm the recorder. You should be getting a signal. Press play
to start the recording. If this does not work, try the Windows Sound Recorder. If
it doesn't work here either, your sound card or driver may not be capable of rerouting
the output to an input. You could always try using a stereo 1/8th inch cable and
connect the Speaker jack to the Line-in jack.

12) Patch for Audio Creator LE does not install - Serial number rejected.
The serial number is only required for the full version of Audio Creator,
not LE. It sounds like you are installing the incorrect update for the full version
rather than LE. Please download the latest Audio Creator LE patch here:

Pyro 5 Issues
13) During the burning process, Pyro gets stuck on "Preparing CD".
Try waiting to put the blank CD in the drive until Pyro prompts you to do so during
the burning process. This will sometimes initiate the CDRW or DVDRW's driver properly.
To ensure that other programs are not interfering with the operation of Cakewalk,
do the following. click the Start button. Choose Run. Type msconfig in the Run box
and click OK choose Selective Startup un-check Load Startup Group Items click OK
and restart the computer

14) Pyro 5 under Windows Vista.
Your version of Pyro is not 100% Vista
compatible and not officially supported under Vista. Although some features may
work we cannot guarantee it. At this time our only CD burning software that is Vista
compatible is pyro Audio Creator. Please click
here for more information:
It may help to manually launch the program
as an administrator. This is done by right-clicking on either the Desktop shortcut
or the program executable and selecting "Run As Administrator". Also uncheck any
advanced display options here.

16) Temp or Disc full error.
If you receive the error,
"Pyro could not rip/burn this track" or "the disc is full or the file name is already
in use." Then there are a few things to look for. First, illegal characters such
as question marks, slashes, asterisks, etc.. Also excessively long file names can
also cause this issue. Try to keep the names under 11 characters for a Data CD.
Once you rename the files either outside or inside of Pyro, try ripping or burning
them again.
If you get this error when
recording an audio file, go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Sounds and Audio.
Make sure the default recording device is the correct one. What types of
files are you trying to burn? WMA, WAV or MP3? If it is a WMA, right-click on the
File in Windows and go to Properties. If you see a License tab with Copy Protected
showing, then you will not be able to burn or play the song in Pyro.

17) CD Info not working.
At this time Pyro's CD Info features work only with Windows Media Player 9 and 10.
If you already have WMP 11 installed, you can go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control
Panel, check "Show Updates" and roll back to WMP 10. If you don't have the "Show
Updates" box, remove WMP 11 and XP will revert back to version 10.

18) Cell Phone not on the ringtone list.
Unfortunately, we do not support that phone. You can try setting Pyro to use a phone
with a similar model number or tone type, like the Moto Razr, but using a different
model preset isn't supported and I cannot guarantee that it will work. Many times,
presets that are in the same "family" will work for newer phones. You can change
the Carrier and Phone Type presets as many times as you like, but the Cell Phone
Number field only once. Downloading the free version of
ToneThis may give you more carrier and manufacturer options, however, we
do not support this software directly.

19) Can't record Audio in Pyro 5
This page will
show you everything you need to know about recording and editing in Pyro.
Choose Start | Programs | Accessories | Entertainment | Volume Control | Options
| Properties. Click on Adjust Volume For Recording, and make sure all boxes below
are checked. Click OK, and locate the Line In and Mic sliders. Make sure the Select
boxes at the bottom are checked (you may only be able to check one at a time - check
the one appropriate for your purposes Line In). Close the window down and try recording
in Cakewalk again.
If none of this works, try recording in Windows Sound Recorder (Start | Programs
| Accessories Entertainment Sound Recorder). If you cannot record in Sound Recorder,
you won't be able to record in Cakewalk. I'd then have you speak with your computer
vendor's technical support. Once they get Sound Recorder working, Cakewalk should
work as well.

20) Can't record from a USB Audio Device in Pyro 5.
First go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Sounds and Audio | Audio. Make sure
the USB Device is the default Recording device. Choose Start | Programs | Accessories
| Entertainment | Volume Control | Options | Properties. Click on Adjust Volume
For Recording, and make sure the USB input is set up correctly. Pyro 5 does not
have the ability to monitor a USB input via the software. You will have to connect
the analog outputs of your turntable (via an RCA to stereo 1/8th inch adapter) to
the Line-in of your sound card in order to monitor the audio. Make sure you don't
have the Line-in muted in the Volume control.
If none of this works, try recording in Windows Sound Recorder (Start | Programs
| Accessories Entertainment Sound Recorder). If you cannot record in Sound Recorder,
you won't be able to record in Cakewalk. I'd then have you speak with The USB device
or computer vendor's technical support. Once they get Sound Recorder working, Cakewalk
should work as well.
